I paint imaginary landscapes rooted in emotion and expression. Each piece is layered with personal meaning, intuitive energy, and vibrant colour — a conversation between what the land evokes and how it feels to be there.
My professional life has always combined graphic design and words. After studying English at Oxford and earning an MA at Goldsmiths, I spent over 30 years crafting award-winning creative content across TV and digital media. I wrote and developed more than ten internationally recognised projects — and received honours including a BAFTA, an International Media Award, and the Royal Geographical Society’s Gold Medal. I’ve also worked as a website and social media manager for some of the UK’s most iconic brands.
In 2020, everything changed. I was among the first people to contract Covid-19 and was left severely disabled by long-term complications. For the first few years, I was completely bedridden and unable to write or use a computer. On the advice of my Occupational Therapist, I began painting again from bed — having always loved art. What began as therapy became something more: it became a new life.
One of my earliest post-Covid paintings was selected for the Oxford Art Society’s Open Exhibition — a moment of recognition that showed me I was on the right path. I threw myself into refreshing my art learning through online courses, and in 2025, I completed a professional artist development programme. That same year, I exhibited my first full, cohesive collection at Conways for Oxfordshire Art Weeks. I invited my art friends Alice Kwan and Tim Kapp to join me, and visitors queued down the street for our Private View. Multiple collectors took home my work every day of the event — a powerful reminder that even from a place of limitation, something full of connection and possibility can grow.
I now paint from home, in short bursts between rests. I remain mostly housebound and live with very limited energy. I still can't write, I struggle with screens, and I sleep a lot — but what energy I do have goes into my paintings. They bring me so much joy, and I hope they do the same for others. As I paint, I think of each piece’s future owner and quietly send you joy and love. There's no greater thrill for me than seeing one of my paintings find the person it was always meant for.
I create original works that speak to memory, landscape, and emotional truth. I work in acrylic and mixed media on cradled wood panels, combining intuitive mark-making with layered colour, texture, collage, and words. Collectors often tell me my work brings them joy, calm, or a sense of belonging. That means everything to me.
I hope you find a painting here that holds meaning for you — a source of ongoing joy, a keeper of memories, and something beautiful that no one else has.
